Leave a Legacy with the Forever Fund
The Harpswell Heritage Land Trust (HHLT) has established an endowment called the Forever Fund to ensure its ability to preserve Harpswell’s waters, wildlife habitats and special places forever. An endowment will help provide the long term funding that the Land Trust will need to protect these irreplaceable resources in perpetuity. Your gift to the Forever Fund will enable your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to enjoy the Harpswell you love.
Why make a gift to the endowment?
Your gift to Harpswell Heritage Land Trust’s Forever Fund will:
- Leave a lasting legacy for your descendants.
- Support continued conservation of Harpswell’s special places.
- Ensure that HHLT remains a vibrant organization now and in the future.
HHLT depends on your annual membership dues and funding from grants to perform our current conservation work of preserving Harpswell’s special places, engaging the next generation of stewards, and providing public trails and access to the shore. While these funds are crucial for our current success, we believe our long term conservation efforts in Harpswell will depend on the additional income provided by the Forever Fund.
Donations of cash, pledges, securities, and irrevocable planned gifts are all welcome contributions. We encourage donors to consult with their own financial and legal advisors.
How will the endowment be managed?
Our Forever Fund will be professionally managed to conserve and grow the principal. Income from the endowment will be available to support the Land Trust’s conservation, stewardship and education work.
