Invasive Plant Walk at Curtis Farm Preserve
Saturday, June 11 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Curtis Farm Preserve (meet at the 1554 Harpswell Neck Road parking area). Limited to 20 participants. Advance registration is required. Click here to register.
This educational walk will explore areas around the field where the Harpswell Invasive Plant Partnership (HIPP) has been working to remove invasive plants. We will identify various native and invasive plant species, discuss control methods being implemented to manage the invasive plants, and talk about plans for future work at Curtis Farm Preserve.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and conditions. Long pants are suggested.
This walk will be co-led by Becky Gallery and Priscilla Seimer.
Becky is a Master Gardener and President of the Harpswell Garden Club, as well as the Chair of the Garden Club’s Harpswell Historic Park Gardens. She has volunteered with HIPP since 2015 and is a current trustee of the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust (HHLT) and a member of HHLT’s Stewardship Committee.
Priscilla is the Stewardship Coordinator for Harpswell Heritage Land Trust. She is a Maine Master Naturalist with a background in natural resources conservation and often leads educational plant walks for the community.
