Southern Midcoast Forest Playgroup Comes to Harpswell

Thursday, March 19 from 10-11:30 a.m. Location to be announced.

Harpswell Heritage Land Trust provides fun and engaging Harpswell-based activities for the Southern Midcoast Forest Playgroup on the third Thursday of the month (excluding the summer).

The Forest Playgroup is a free, parent-facilitated program that aims to provide a space for families to explore, learn and interact outside. They meet every Thursday at 10 a.m. at different locations in the Southern Midcoast region. Weekly adventures are posted in their Facebook group. Click here to join.

All are welcome! Please wear appropriate clothing to be outdoors the whole time. We will meet rain or shine!

Full Moon Adventure

Friday, March 20, 7-8 p.m. Location to be announced.

Savor the crisp air and moonlight as we enjoy a walk together under the full moon. Snacks and hot drinks provided at this free event. Dogs welcome. Depending on the snow conditions, bring snowshoes, microspikes or just your boots. Also bring a headlamp or flashlight, a travel mug and warm clothes.

Harpswell’s Winter World

Saturday, March 21 from 10-11:30 a.m. Location to be announced.

March’s outing will be led by Nat Wheelwright, Bowdoin Biology Professor Emeritus.

Join us the third Saturday of each month, January through April, for Harpswell’s Winter World. Each month we’ll visit a different land trust preserve with a naturalist for an informal walk to explore how plants and animals have adapted to survive winter in Maine, as well as other winter-worthy topics. Details for each outing will be posted on this website prior to the walk. Programs are free and appropriate for adults and school-aged children. No advance registration necessary.
