What parents are saying about Nature Day Camp

Here’s what parents love about Nature Day Camp:

“Every location was beautiful and so diverse! My child loved exploring each different location, and three of the four were new to us. The camp teachers took advantage of all there was to offer in each place, highlighting animals and features that made the environment unique. Each location offered the group a variety of options for exploring, creating and playing with plenty of space for the public to enjoy the area at the same time.”

“She has already asked to sign up again next year! We are excited to start keeping a nature journal together of things we find around our house.”

“Every day was so well organized from drop off to pick up! My son came home every day saying it was his favorite day!”

“The instructors were wonderful to work with. Each one took the time to make sure each camper was comfortable, safe, and cared for. Their patience and flexibility allowed the campers to get the most out of their camp experience and helped each day run so smoothly. This is a wonderful program and we look forward to next year! Thank you for all of your time and effort put into coordinating this.”

“The nature name was a big hit in our house!! We appreciate the effort made to connect art activities to the location and the nature journal provided our child with the perfect venue for writing and drawing about her day. My daughter enjoyed the games where she could be an animal and the stories about animals. She LOVED the yoga with Ms. Jen and had a blast dancing and playing instruments with Julia’s dad on the beach. When I volunteered, I noticed that the staff was able to keep the kids engaged with a variety of activities while allowing them plenty of time to explore, play and discover on their own time. The day did not feel rushed at all and the kids were never at a loss for things to do.”

“Loved the variety of activities! Listening, learning through touch, reading, role play, yoga, singing and instrument playing, journaling, searching the woods, catching butterflies…Such early exposure to all these beautiful places in Harpswell will tie their memories to Harpswell when they are adults.”

“It was a great experience for my son who does not always love exploring nature. Thank you!!!”

“My daughter was engaged and shared what she did at home with excitement.”

“The activities each day were well thought out and appropriate for this age group. The length of time spent on each activity was well balanced to give the campers plenty of time for exploration and a smooth transition to the next thing. The variety of exploration, crafts, games, stories, etc. kept the campers’ interest throughout the week.”

“I loved that the kids were outside exploring all day, innocent child summer days!!”

“[The best parts were] outdoor time, finding/discovering crabs, spending time in the water, meeting friends and teachers that value nature.”
