No public programs, but trails, ideas and inspiration!

Harpswell Heritage Land Trust’s response to COVID-19.

During these challenging times, nature is a refuge.

Though our public programs, events and group volunteering are canceled until further notice, our preserves and trails are open! Whether you’ve visited them a hundred times or are new to Harpswell, our trails and preserves provide a safe place to enjoy the beauty of the Maine coast, explore, play, get some exercise, connect with family, breath in the fresh air, relax and clear your mind.

Your own backyard and neighborhood are also great places to spend some time outdoors.

We understand that these are difficult days for many people, and we want to help. To that end, we will be posting daily ideas and inspiration (weekdays only). For parents, we will frequently share simple activities to engage your children with the outdoors and keep them healthy and occupied. For all ages, we will post reading material and inspiration to help you make healthful outdoor time and nature watching a part of your new normal. This is a great opportunity to check out our Harpswell Nature Watchers web page and Facebook group.

We would love to hear from you. Please share your photos from your outdoor adventures at home and on the trails. Do you have ideas and suggestions for others? What will you be doing to keep yourself and your children happy, healthy and balanced? We encourage you to send photos and tips to photos@hhltmaine.org. We’ll share some of these, with our own ideas, on Facebook, Instagram, and our website, as well as via email.

We wish you good health. Happy trails!
