Celebration of Kelp

We hope you can join HHLT for a celebration of kelp! As part of our Climate Resilience series with Casco Bay Estuary Partnership, we will be learning all about kelp and what it can do for our oceans, our bodies, and our community. We will hear from kelp farmer Stuart Ryan, former famer and nutrition student Isaac Burtis, and Liz MacDonald of Atlantic Sea Farms for a panel discussion and Q&A about the benefits of kelp. Before and after the panel we will have samples of various food and drink made with kelp, and a chance to print your own kelp art with artist Jordan Kendall Parks.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for food and art making, with our panel starting at 5:30. Afterwards there will be more time to enjoy kelp products, chat with your neighbors, and print some kelp art. We will have a limited number of canvas tote bags to print on, so feel free to bring your own bags or t-shirts as well.

All are invited and welcome to attend, but we ask that you RSVP for planning purposes.
