Nature Notes Series

Harpswell Heritage Land Trust
January 1, 2022

Harpswell author Ed Robinson has been writing and speaking about the outdoors for years. Ed has now published two volumes in the Nature Notes series and both have been very popular. Each book is a collection of wildlife essays featuring different species found in Maine. Subjects range from loons, skunks, bobcats, and black bears to puffins, river otters, moose and bald eagles.

A reviewer from the Natural Resources Council of Maine raved about the first volume, calling the writing “lucid and tranquil.” Readers will surely enjoy the many fine photographs in the second book, a number of which were taken by local photographers. Even better, all profits from sales of both books support the conservation and education efforts of Harpswell Heritage Land Trust.

Each book is available in our online store for $20 plus shipping, or you can purchase either volume as an e-book on Amazon for $9.99 by clicking here.

When he’s not publishing books, Ed is still writing and speaking about the wildlife of Maine! Every month Ed publishes a Nature Notes essay right here on our website. If you’d like to see a complete list of the species he’s covered, click here.

Ed is also currently offering a presentation about the mystery of Maine’s wildlife that features several species from Volume 2. With more than 100 beautiful images, most of them distinct from the book’s photos, you will want to see the show! Click here to learn more about his presentation and to find out when and where you can hear him talk. Contact Ed at erobin77@gmail.com to book a presentation.
