Coastal Cleanup

This year the Maine Land Trust Network (MLTN) and Friends of Casco Bay are sponsoring their annual Coastal Cleanup from September 7 to September 21. As part of that effort, we are excited to partner with the town of Harpswell to host a town-wide cleanup on September 14.

The town of Harpswell is offering free disposal of marine debris on Saturday, September 14 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants should go to the town office to have their debris verified by the Harbormaster and Marine Resource Team; they will receive a pink tag that will verify their eligibility for free disposal at the transfer station.

Heavy duty garbage bags and gloves will be available at the HHLT office, located at 153 Harpswell Neck Road, all day on September 13 and 14 in support of this effort. We encourage everyone to do their part in to protect the Casco Bay ecosystem. Feel free to coordinate with friends to collect trash and marine debris from your favorite spot to help keep Harpswell healthy for generations to come!
