The Wildlife of Fire & Ice: Iceland with Ed Robinson

Join us for a one-hour presentation featuring the wonderful wildlife of Iceland, known as the Land of Fire & Ice. Enjoy photographs of unique and fascinating wildlife surrounded by amazing scenery. From rugged coastlines to jagged volcanic peaks, Iceland is like no other place on Earth, sitting astride the major fault line between North America and Europe. The land has been shaped by millions of years of seismic activity and the wildlife has evolved to live in this unusual habitat. The talk chronicles a three-week trip to this stunning country found just below the Arctic Circle. Writer and Photographer Ed Robinson of Orr’s Island, Maine is a widely traveled naturalist and will share his knowledge of Iceland’s beautiful creatures. The presentation will entertain and educate using 150 stunning photos, biological facts, and stories with a Q&A session to follow.

Ed grew up in the lovely Finger Lakes region of western New York and developed a deep love for the natural world. Since moving to Maine from England in 2007, he has been exploring and writing extensively about the creatures that live here. Ed has written two books in a series titled Nature Notes from Maine with a third book on the way. All profits from his books support the public education and conservation work of HHLT. Interested in buying one of Ed’s books? Visit our online store! Books will also be available for purchase at the event.

This event is free and open to all. Registration is requested for planning purposes. The presentation will begin at 6 with time for questions afterward.
