Winter Solstice Lantern Walk & Celebration
Celebrate the winter solstice with a lantern walk and bonfire. Welcome the lengthening days with light, treats, and community. Walk along a short, easy trail lined with lanterns and light installations. Bring a lantern to carry if you’d like. Warm up with fire, hot cocoa, and sweet treats.
All are welcome at this free, family-friendly event. Advance registration is requested to help us plan.
You are welcome to show up at any time during the event. The lantern walk is self-guided, and there will be cocoa, snacks, and campfires from 5:30-7 p.m. There will be a solstice acknowledgement and invitation at 6 p.m.
Bring warm clothes, a flashlight, and a travel mug for your cocoa (to help us use fewer disposable cups). Feel free to bring a lantern if you would like. We will provide battery-powered lights to place in your lanterns.

An outreach worker from the StrengthenME program will be available at the refreshments table to answer your questions about their program and talk about how we can support our neighbors and community in planning for the future of coastal storms.
