Join Harpswell Historical Society and Harpswell Heritage Land Trust for a celebration of traditional handcrafts and subsistence skills on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 12-4 p.m., rain or shine, at the Harpswell Historical Society, 929 Harpswell Neck Road. Parking will be available at the Elijah Kellogg Church.

You’ll find lots to see and learn — all free, with something for all ages.

Local artisans will demonstrate handcrafts and skills that were central to the people of Harpswell in the past. Many of the demonstrations will have an element of interactive participation.

Entertainment will include live fiddle music, storytelling, and guided historic tours. In addition to the talks and tours, you will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of Harpswell’s rich history by browsing historic artifacts in the Harpswell Historical Society museum.

And don’t miss the chance to experience a 19th century one-room schoolhouse and converse with Revolutionary War era reenactors!
