This January Katie Neal is leaving HHLT after five and a half years to take over as Recreation Director & Community Services Coordinator for the Town of Harpswell. We are so thrilled to see Katie step into this role and look forward to working with her in her new capacity.

When asked to look back at her time with the land trust, Katie said her favorite part of the job was the community. “I love being able to work in the town where I’m raising my children. Harpswell is such a beautiful place to live, and I loved working with the people in this community to reach common goals. I’m so glad I’ll be able to continue working with the friends and neighbors I met at HHLT in my new role!”

Katie first joined the land trust in 2019 as a part-time Membership and Communications Coordinator, but continued to take on additional duties whenever needed, and rose through the ranks over the years from Office Administrator all the way to Operations Director.

In 2024, Katie guided our team through a leadership transition, mentoring staff and ensuring that our work continued as normal through a busy summer season. Katie always went the extra mile at the land trust and we are so grateful for her hard work over the years.

Katie will be greatly missed, and we are looking forward to working with her on projects like the Harpswell Hiking Challenge and the Harpswell Guide in the future. Best wishes, Katie!
