2026 Annual Meeting & Celebration
Join us for refreshments, conversation, and connection, and celebrate HHLT’s work over the past year. This year’s Annual Meeting will include a presentation on “Salt Hay Farming & Marsh Restoration,” covering the agricultural history of salt hay farming and the lasting effects of these agricultural practices on today’s marshes. In response to these neglected marsh alterations, organizations and networks such as the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, the Casco Bay Estuary Partnership, and the Salt Marsh Adaptation and Resiliency Teams (SMARTeams) are leading marsh restoration efforts to restore natural tidal flows, support vegetation recovery, and increase marsh resilience to sea level rise. This talk coincides with the start of a multi-year collaborative marsh restoration project at Harpswell’s Long Marsh.
