Malaga Island Tour

Join us for a tour of Malaga Island with Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s Southern Maine Community Outreach Manager Danielle Arroyo. This tour complements our Malaga Island Presentation on August 7 with Kate McBrien. We strongly encourage all participants to attend the lecture to get important background information for this trip.

Captain Peter Milholland of Seacoast Tours of Freeport will meet us at Holbrook Wharf at 10 a.m. and take us over to Malaga Island, where Danielle will show the group around and answer questions. Participants will be shuttled from the boat to the island in a dinghy, so this is not the best fit for participants with limited mobility. We will take time to eat lunch together on the island, so please bring a bag lunch with you. We highly recommend wearing long pants and bringing bug spray, sunscreen, and water. There is a bathroom on the boat which can be used when traveling to and from the island.

We are asking that each registrant pay a $40 fee to help cover the cost of the program. If you would like to cover the full cost of your spot on the boat, you can contribute $70, but that is optional. We do not want cost to be a barrier to participation, so please follow the directions in the form if you would like a scholarship for this program.
